Will 30A Be Affected by Hurricane Milton?

Only two weeks after the devastating Hurricane Helene made landfall in Perry, Florida, another hurricane is projected to soon make landfall on the Florida peninsula. Santa Rosa Beach and 30A were not impacted by Helene, though residents watched carefully and prepared for potential effects 3-5 days prior.

Most Zone A and B areas on the western coast of the peninsula are under mandatory evacuation orders, so traffic and supplies throughout the peninsula is pretty hairy right now.

We pray for the safety of our fellow Floridians to the southeast.

As Milton approaches the coast, out-of-state visitors have asked whether 30A vacation plans should be cancelled or modified due to the coming storm.

No Cancellations Necessary Near 30A

Based on every single projection, Santa Rosa Beach and surrounding areas including 30A, Miramar Beach, and Panama City Beach are thankfully not in the path of peripheral storms.

I visited Publix grocery store last night and the milk and egg section were almost completely empty. Distilled water was also sold out. This may be due to trucks stuck in traffic in other parts of Florida. Just a few miles down the road, Walmart was fully stocked.

The current 10 day forecast for 30A is clear skies and lots of sun, with lows in the low 60s and highs in the upper 70s even low 80s.
